Day 3 of Culinary we havent really done much hands on work yet. We visited GVC Tech's Green house we saw all the different plants and herbs. They didnt have anything for us to do so we went back for an early lunch. After lunch we watched an ice sculpting video and then we got to go out early.
Well today was our 3rd day of Culinary Arts. We went to GVC Tech greenhouse and we saw all sorts of different kinds of herbs and other plants. when we got there they had done everything already so then they just talked a bit about what they do in their greenhouse and after that we got to go back to school and have an early lunch :). After lunch we watched a video in class about this guy who does ice sculpting and for me it was the best part of the day :). I fond it interesting how he used a chainsaw to create his art, it looked really cool, He had a whole winter snow scene. After that we got to go early :)
Hello! Today we visited GVC Tech's Horticulture class. We got see how the plants were grown and see all the herbs and spices we will be using in our class. We didn't get to do any actual gardening cause they had already done it all. In the green house they had lights that helped the plants grow in winter the same as they did in summer. What the horticulture teacher said, it seems like we will be having lots of herbs and spices to use in our own cooking. The good news..we got an early and extended lunch our to chill with our friends. I really enjoyed that part just like everyone else. After our long lunch we watched a video on a guy doing ice sculptures. I don't really know what he was making it just looked like ice. After we got to go early. I can't wait till we actually get to use and see our new kitchen. I can't wait! ~Heather Penner
so today we went to GVC Tech to go plant herbs in there greenhouse but when we got there they had already finished planning everything, So they told us a bit about how the greenhouse works, then wee took a group photo and left back to the school. It may have been a short and unexpected trip but we were able to learn how a greenhouse works.
Unfortunately we did not get to help plant,... but we did learn how the process of how the greenhouse works and what they grow there. Very new and nice facility. We look forward to purchasing some products from you. Thanks Kathy for the hospitality!
